Somaro is one of the best places to experience the rich history and culture of the port city of Sakata. Originally a traditional Japanese high-class restaurant named Somaya that operated for over 100 years, the buildings underwent a renovation in the year 2000 when the newly renamed Somaro was born.

4: There are handrails on the stairs, but please be sure, that customers with mobility issues or elderly individuals, please use the stairs with caution. We apologize for any inconvenience.

7: If the parking lot is full, only boarding and disembarking will be available, and bus may be sent back.
Special Operating Hours & Geisha Dance Show Schedule for October 2026 (Cruise Ship Arrival Days)
In October 2026, large cruise ships are scheduled to dock at Sakata Port.
On these arrival days, Somaro will operate under special business hours and show schedules:
• Visiting Ships: Westerdam, MSC Bellissima, MITSUI OCEAN SAKURA
• Operating Hours & Show Times: Please refer to the daily schedule below.

In the event of a sudden cruise cancellation or schedule change due to weather or sea conditions, our operating hours and shows may revert to the standard schedule. Any updates will be announced on this website as soon as possible.

Same-Day Ticket Availability: Same-day reservations for available seats (other than the 2:00 p.m. show) can only be made at the reception desk on the day of your visit (no advance reservations).
